Will be conducting a demo lesson on cloze procedure for P6 CARE - observed by 8 teachers (all EL level heads from P1 - P6!).
Prepared a lesson plan as well as reflection sheets for teacher observers. Will be holding a debrief with the next week after part 2 of cloze 'programme'.
Working on revision and practice next week - bite sizes training - to emphsize strategies and to provide scaffoling and more focussed assessment on concerns and difficulties of understanding and applying strategies.
Will be planning for lesson obervations to 'see' how teachers use ideas in teaching cloze. (possibility of thinking with and assisting teachers to use and modify ideas for their own classes.
Will have to talk to Waheed to work on schedule for consultation, observations and debriefs.
Also hope to work on writing lessons with P4 RES , talk to Jolene to work out something (based on Junyuan's writing programme/package) - have her observe and reflect on practice -
WIll analyse cloze performace in P6 prelim exams and compare to mid Year results.
Also will talk to teachers and get fb on heir practice -changed? (4M) - Concerns? Issues? Etc.
Working on the work (21st century structures and processes in school - reconfiguration and transfomation of work and routines) what teachers do on a daily basis in and out of the classroom.
Spoke to a parent back from overseas (teaching in school) with son attached to P4 Res (he's actually in P2). Moteh rthinks he's gifted (teachers in overseas school have told her) but he might also be 'different' = asperges. Mom would like me to chat with him (next Wed 18 th July at 9 am in tuckshop) and give my 2 cents worth. Told her best option is to get him formally asssessed by qualified professionals. Schools will have to make arrangements with diagnosis results.
