Great teachers fail all the time.
I need to experience the anxieties and frustrations that come when you try or implement something new or complex. Multiple decision and choice points (refer to research)
Reciprocative impact – need to think through and plan – too rushed – what do I want the pupils to understand – need to learn – Complex skills sets and understandings need corresponding scaffolded teaching/learning structures and environments
Should I have scaffolded the texts to make it easier for pupils – underline words that are useful or relevant. Or should I have simplified texts – mark out chunks that are irrelevant etc.
Too demanding on them – reading skills – already choosing what is relevant? – hmmm.

Spoke to a BT (she joined the school in May thus year). Askd by her CT to observe my lesson demos. She is coming again next week.
She said she was suprised at how attentive and engaged the pupils were when she was in my class :]
Had a debrief with her from 1.30 - 2.30 pm. Went through process writing with her and asked her to refer to EL 2010 syllabus (not seen before).
She liked the EU I used with the class (UbD) and commented that it helped her understand the learning and teaching of writing straight away.
She wants to try the strategies I shared with her (almost immediately) and would like to learn more.
